How to review a FACEIT CS2 demo in your browser
Use the free 2D demo viewer to inspect a match without launching CS2. The demo is parsed on your device and is never uploaded to FACEIT Extender.
- With the extension installed, open a finished FACEIT match and select its 2D View link. You can also download a demo yourself and open the viewer directly.
- Select Import demos or drop a
.demor.dem.zstfile into the viewer. Wait for local parsing to finish. - Select a player and round, then play the 2D replay. Inspect the player's stats and follow coach findings to the rounds behind them.
- Use compare mode to look for repeated routes or fights across rounds. Draw arrows, shapes, or notes on the map to explain a play.
A 2D replay shows the match from above; it does not replace first-person footage when you need to inspect precise aiming or visual information. Review the underlying rounds before treating a coach finding as a conclusion.
How to compare a player's CS2 rounds
Review a specific question: does the player repeat an opening route, rotate too early, or die in the same place? Compare mode puts several rounds on the same map so you can check the pattern against the replay.
- Import a demo in the CS2 demo viewer and select the map and player you want to review.
- Choose Compare and select the rounds relevant to your question. Start with a few rounds so the routes remain readable.
- Use Line rounds up at to choose a shared timing reference. Scrub or play the timeline to compare movement at the same point.
- Open an individual round to check the surrounding play. Use the drawing tools to mark a route or position you want to discuss.
For example, compare several opening routes on Mirage. If the player keeps taking the same path, check which rounds were won or lost and what happened around the first fight. A repeated route is an observation; it does not establish why a round was lost.
Watch the round-comparison demonstrationCS2 demo viewer questions
Can I watch a FACEIT demo without launching CS2?
Yes. Open a downloaded demo in the browser viewer for a 2D overhead replay. With the extension installed, the finished match room also provides a 2D View link.
Is the CS2 demo viewer free?
Local demo viewing, round comparison, and drawing tools are free. Optional AI questions use tokens, with a weekly free allowance. See Support for supporter options.
Does my demo get uploaded?
The demo file is parsed locally on your device and is not uploaded to FACEIT Extender. If you use optional AI questions, selected statistics and evidence are sent to the API; the demo file stays on your device.
Do I need the extension to use the viewer?
You can open the viewer directly and import a demo without installing the extension. Install the extension for the FACEIT match-room integration and player insights.
Can I review aim in first person?
The viewer provides a 2D overhead replay. Use CS2's first-person demo playback to inspect crosshair placement and the player's exact view. The overhead replay is useful for routes, positioning, timings, and round comparisons.

Data and permissions
Core features read publicly available FACEIT data locally in your browser. The extension never needs your FACEIT password. Your FACEIT login is never sent to our servers. The optional AI briefing sends a limited set of match stats to our servers.
Automation features act on your behalf and may conflict with FACEIT rules. Review the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service before enabling them.
